Condominio

After checking in with CAPA at the airport, we took a taxi ride over to our condominio. Apparently, road lines are just suggestions in Florence. And as we soon learned, even the roads themselves weren't necessarily the only median of transport. But on way or another, we made it over to our condominio. We did get a little rain on the way over, but it we managed to stay pretty dry nonetheless.

As you can see from the pictures, the condominio is incredible. I'm staying with the four other guys in our program. There are three bedrooms, a kitchen, common living room and a balcony that connects my bedroom to the kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped with a TV (with apparently only one channel), a washer, dishwasher, stove, sink and basic kitchen utensils. There were even some groceries on the table when we came in to help get us off to a good start. And the place has WiFi. As we've been told this is not a student dormitory or a hotel, it is a "typical Italian apartment" that majority of Italians live in.

The apartment owners, an older women and her daughter, were there when we arrived and helped us get settled in. They are really nice, and despite their apologies, could speak decent English. We really lucked out with the condominio – the other places that the girls live in are not nearly as nice. We'll probably visit them later today or tomorrow. If you haven't already, be sure to check out the last photo I posted below – it is a panorama of our view off of the back balcony.
