A Florentine Sunset

After visiting the gardens, we were all pretty hungry. We ended up eating at a random restaurant on the south side of the Arno. I got the speciality for that night, lasagna. The lasagna was great, although, it was quite different from the lasagna that I am used to. There was no tomato sauce – it was completely cheese-based. Really good stuff though.

After dinner, we made our way up to the Piazzale Michelangelo for the sunset. As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, one of my goals for this trip was to see the sunrise and sunset up at the Piazzale Michelangelo. I already attempted the sunrise on an early run last week, and tonight, it was time for the sunset. I hoped for better luck than the cloudy morning last week.

As expected, the Piazza was packed with people – mostly photographers. The sunset was certainly better than the sunrise, but it wasn't ideal. There was a pretty big cloud on the horizon that blocked the end of the sunset. Still, I was able to capture a few good photos. And either way, the view of Florence from the southern piazza really never gets old.
