Streets & Churches

Despite the scale of the city, Rome is definitely manageable. There are no straight paths to anything – the streets are more-or-less zig-zags (I took a handful of photos of weirdly edged buildings jutting out into the sky representing the nonstandard angles of adjoining streets), but once you determine a cardinal direction, you can very well just make an approximately straight path without consulting a map.

For lunch, we ended up stopping at a random restaurant for pizza, pasta and calzones. Food is relatively expensive in Rome – especially around tourist attractions. But the pizza was pretty big, so I was happy with my selection.

I was told by several people to stop in every church that you see in Rome. And I ended up stopping in quite a few. They were all beautiful and unique in their own way. I especially admired the pipe organs.
