The Island of Capri

Although our hotel was in Sorrento, the majority of our days were spent elsewhere. After breakfast in the hotel this morning, we were off to the island of Capri.

After returning from Capri, we were provided with a (very small) dinner at the hotel. We were all pretty tired and just decided to spend the remainder of the night talking in the restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel.

This morning we had a nice breakfast in the hotel before walking down to the water where we would be catching a ferry to Capri. Italian breakfast is definitely different that what we are used to in America, but I'm certainly not complaining. They really value their sweets. Although the hotel also had cold cut sandwiches, fruit and cereal. Needless to say, there was plenty of food to get started for the day...

The boat ride over to Capri was an event in itself (hence why it is in its own journal entry). At the time I'm writing this, the event took place over three weeks ago, but I remember it as if it were yesterday. Brace yourself. First of all, I really do enjoy boats. After the eventful ferry ride, another boat ride was scheduled into the itinerary believe it or not. However, this time, it was a private Capri Island Boat Tour on a much smaller motor boat. A few of the people in our group decided to skip the tour, but I figured it couldn't be nearly as bad as the ferry and decided to risk it. I'm really glad that I did. It turns out that we were given an abbreviated boat...

After the boat tour, we took the incline – oops sorry wrong incline, try this one – to the upper part of the Island as we made our way to the beach. It wasn't exactly the best beach day for a several reasons. As I mentioned early, the water level was unusually high, so there really wasn't much of a beach at all. And the part that was left, was pretty rocky. Not to mention, it was overcast, and the water...
