After breakfast in the hotel this morning, we packed up our bags and were on the road. But before we went back to Florence, we spent the day touring the ancient ruins of Pompeii and climbing Mount Vesuvius.

After visiting the city of Pomeii, we hiked up to Mount Vesuvius. And by "hiked", I mean our bus drove us up the majority of the incline, and we had about a twenty minute hike to the peak. Either way, it was really cool. Figuratively and literally. I guess I should have guessed that it would have been a bit chilly 4,200 feet above sea level, but I certainly didn't prepare for it.
